The lead role in 'Priyotoma' was initially intended for Shobnom Bubly. The highly successful Eid release, "Priyotoma," has been receiving an overwhelming response both locally and internationally. Starring Kolkata actress Idhika Paul opposite Shakib Khan, the film has truly captivated audiences' hearts. However, what remains lesser-known is that Shobnom Bubly was originally chosen to play the lead role alongside Shakib Khan. Bubly recently shared her experience with the project and her thoughts on its remarkable success during an interview with the media.

Back in November 2017, Bubly signed a contract for the film when it was titled "Priyotoma." The movie was produced by Shakib Khan's SK Films and was scheduled to commence filming in 2018. Unfortunately, the project encountered delays for various reasons, including Shakib Khan's marriage to Bubly. As a result, the film's release was postponed for almost seven years, with Idhika Paul ultimately stepping into the lead role.

Despite not being a part of the final cast, Bubly expressed her enthusiasm for the movie's triumph and praised Idhika Paul's exceptional performance as 'Iti.' She also mentioned her desire to watch "Priyotoma" alongside Idhika, had she known about her visit to Dhaka.

"If I had been aware that Idhika was in Bangladesh, I would have definitely invited her to watch 'Priyotoma' with me," said Bubly.

Bubly extended her heartfelt congratulations to the entire team involved in the film, acknowledging the hard work of the late writer Faruq Hossain and director Himel Ashraf.
